Bridge Peninsula Is the Best

The first day of bridge I was nervous. I didn’t know anybody but if I come every day I will get to meet new people and make friends. My new friends are called Noe, Lalo, Salvador, and Eric, and more.In math class they teach percecntages,algebra,decimals,and fractions. I learned new things that I didn’t know. We are reading the book called Holes. When we read more, we got to learn new things. When we finish the book we will get to watch the movie. The second week we got to choose electives. I chose swimming and rain gutter regatta. We saw the movie Rango and we are started to watch Mulan. This summer is the best .

Bridge is so fun.For me Peninsula Bridge is incredible. I prefer to go to Bridge than  just sit in the couch and play video.I have learned a lot of math and english language arts.We made pizzas with chef Michael because Mrs.Bunyagidy said it was going to be a good idea for math in fractions.We have ta’s that are called Dani,Mikey,Marcelinl,Julicious,and david.We have electives such as rain gutter,life science,robotics,piano,dance,board games,swimming,soccer,arts and crafts,and kick ball.

Boys at Bridge and characters in Holes are similar. They compare because they all want something. 5th graders are obsessed with pokemon and the warden is obsessed with treasure.The boys like Pokemon because they enjoy trading cards and the battling; the Warden just wants to get rich. The boys want the strongest cards and the Warden wants to get Kate Barlow’s loot. The only difference is that the Warden makes the boys at Camp Green Lake do her work and the boys at Bridge do their own work.

Bridge is Special by Salvador

The first day of bridge I felt nervous because I didn’t know anybody. I was shy, but I have made some friends. I enjoy the electives the most.I am playing soccer and doing life science. It’s really fun in life science. You get to make ice cream. Some people said that it tastes bad, but I really enjoyed it!

Bridge is a fun program that helps kids get a head start on their coming up grade.It’s a good program if you want your kid to learn.Also, at bridge you have fun electives like sports, robotics, ship building and others.Bridge is a great program for fun and learning.At bridge you can make freinds and have fun.Bridge a great place for freinds to be made.

I like soccer. I do soccer with Julicious and Conor. I sometimes go on different teams. I slide tackle. I fall sometimes to pretend a foul. Sometimes I fool around with the goalie. I also get mad sometimes because Julicious stops all of my goals. I also really like math with Ms. B! We were doing percentages and I learned a lot. I like it when she times us. I like the book Holes as well. One of my favorite parts was when Stanley saw the yellow spotted lizard. I like Bridge because it is really fun and I can make new friends.

SUMMER BRIDGE!

Their names are Dani, Molly, Mikey, David, Marcelino, and Ulises. We are reading a book called Holes. I love this book. When we finish reading the book, we are going to see the movie. We also learned fractions. We made pizza and then cut them into sixths to practice what we learned. They were delicious. We have electives every two weeks like swimming, soccer, and board games. In this picture we are reading the book holes. I can see myself. I’m the first kid on the bench.

Hi my name is Jaime F., and I will tell you about my experience at Bridge.

We play a game every morning unless... we get SUDDEN DEATH. Sudden death is where you have to go to class. Bridge is AWESOME and fun. We have two periods -  math and language arts. Lots of people play Pokemon during break. We are also reading Holes. We are on chapter 40. Pokemon is an awesome and cool game. I have lots of friends. All the 5th graders are my friends. We made pizza too. It was very yummy.

Best Place Ever

Bridge is a place that sounds boring, but it is actually really fun. Bridge is a place that gets you ready for the next grade. The TAs at bridge are really funny especially Julicious and David. Molly and Dani are ticklish and it is funny because everybody attacks them. Bridge is the best place I have ever been to.

Francisco

We do some really fun stuff at bridge. We do electives in the afternoon. The electives I did last time were raingutter, swimming, robotics, and life science. It was a blast. There are other electives like arts and crafts, drama, dance, and others. I am still doing swimming and robotics.This is my favorite part of bridge.

There are also TA’s like Molly, Mikey, Dani, David, Marcelino, and Julicous. T.A. means teachers assistant. My sister is a T.A. at bridge at Castilleja. Molly and David are the reading and ELA class TA’s with Ms. Scott. Dani and Julicous are in the math class with Ms. B.

There are also some fun academics because in the reading groups we are reading Holes and next week we are going to watch the movie. First we need to finish eleven chapters. In reading class we still do other grammar, such as how to make your paragraph better. Also in math class we learned about taxes, fractions, algebra, decimals, and percentages.We also watch brain pop videos in both of the classes in reading class and math class. We also have science if you take robotics, rain gutter, and others. We have lots of fun stuff here. I would go to bridge if I were you.

Hi, my name is Rodolfo or Rudy, which is what my friends call me. Do you wonder if robots dream when you turn them off ? Do they have feelings too? I wonder. In class we are reading the book Holes. The movie is different then the book. Next week we are going to see the movie.

Bridge

Bridge is a summer school that has lots of fun activities.Soccer, swimming, science and boat building are some examples. We learn math concepts such as decimals and fractions. The TA’s help the students when they need help have fun with them before and after classes. We get food in the morning and afternoon.

I am going to talk about Summer Bridge. We learn math,and science. I like math more than science. In math you do all kinds of things. My teacher’s name is Ms. Scott and Ms. B. My activity is swimming. We get to go inside the pool. This is why I like Summer Bridge.

Pizza

On July 3, 2013, we went to make pizzas with Chef Michael during Math class. Each group had five people and one pizza. We got to make the fractions for each of us, there was five slices in our pizza. I love making and eating pizzas, this was a great project.

In Bridge and Holes there is death. In Holes Sam gets killed. Kate Barlow also gets killed. In Bridge, the farmer found a headless rabbit. Many people died when Sacred Heart was an all girl’s school.

I love bridge! We have the best TA’s anyone can have. My favorite TA’s  are Juicy-J, Molly, David, and Dani. They are the best people. Molly  and Dani are the tickleish. David is smart  and a little funny. Julicious is hilarious. I do swimming and board game activities.

I have had a great time at Bridge.

I am now going to talk about Peninsula Summer Bridge. The school we are at is Sacred Heart Prep. We have TAs that take care of us and help the teachers. We have fun electives in the afternoon. I chose soccer, life science, and robotics.

Bridge is Fun

Bridge is fun. We always have something fun to do. We can play soccer, build robots, and even go swimming! There are also more activities. The best part of the day. There is always a good meal. My favorite meal is pizza. During break time we can play soccer or football. Sometimes we just lay around. At bridge there are TAs. The T stands for teaching and the A stands for assistant. The funniest TA is Anton. The meanest TA is Hugo because he messes with us. The gentlest TA is Molly. That is what there is at Bridge.

Bridge and Soccer

I will tell you about soccer. In soccer you need a ball to play. In soccer you need to know how to kick. You also need ball control to handle the ball while you’re dribbling. Now I will talk about players in soccer. They need to be on a team.They will need a position to play like midfielder, defense, forward, or goalkeeper. At bridge we have electives and I picked soccer. The two TA’s that were in charge are Hugo and Rueshab. Bridge is very fun.

When I Felt Like Stanley

One day when I took a test and when I finished I felt like Stanley when he did not know where to find Zero. That day I had an elective and I needed my backpack. I left it in the classroom and they moved it to the theater, which made me very confused. I was late for the swimming pool.

Bridge is the Best!

Summer is awesome with Bridge around! It’s fun, safe, and awesome. They provide us with food, shelter, and activities. We divided pizza into fair amounts then ate it! The activities we have are rain gutter, swimming, gaming, arts and crafts, and robotics. There are still more but I like these the best. Bridge is the best program ever!

Bridge is a very fun and educational program for kids 4th - 8th. Almost every kid in here loves pokemon and says Dark Lugia is the best Pokemon.The TA’s here are called Mikey, Molly, Julicous, David, Dani, Conor, and Marcelino.The teachers for the 5th graders are Ms. Scott and Ms. B.The book we are reading is called Holes. It’s about a young boy named Stanley Yelnats who gets punished for a crime he didn’t do and gets sent to a boy’s detention center called Camp Green Lake. There he has to dig one hole per day that is five by five by five.To get to bridge I must take from Belle Haven to Hoover School to get to Bridge. My friends here are I must tnamed Anthony, Alan, Samate, Alexis, and Emilio.

On the day before the 4th of July we made pizza in different groups. Our group was the 1st group to make pizza. Our pizza had Olives,pineapple,ham,pepperoni,and extra cheese. One of the groups had a pizza with jalapenos with ham and olives. The people in my group were Miguel,Emilio Y,Pablo, Jair.

It is fun here at Bridge. We have activities like swimming, soccer, drama, and others.The best part is when we do our activities, because I enjoy spending time with my friends and always happy.

There are TAs or Teacher’s Assistants.The 5th grade TAs are Julicious, David, Dani, Marcelino, and Molly. The 7th grade TAs are Conor, Mikey, Hugo, Big R, Isabelle, Nelly, Cynthia, Sergio, and Jonathan.

I am so thankful to my teacher at Belle Haven and to whoever picked me to be in Bridge. I am so glad to be at Bridge and not at home like the rest of my family relaxing. I like being here at Bridge having wonderful time learning and doing fun activities. I wish everyone could be at Bridge to see how fun it is. No matter if you’re a child or a grown up, Bridge is a fun time.

I like bridge because we do lots of activities. In the morning we go to the theater and we sing the Pokemon song. Then we spin the Wheel of Bridge. We are currently reading a book called Holes. The book is about a kid named Stanley Yelnats; his family is cursed. He was sent to a camp called Camp Green Lake because supposedly he stole Clyde Livingston’s shoes. Bridge is a great way to spend my summer.

This is the end of our third week. Wow, we have been busy.
Too busy today for student's to post on the blog.
We discussed theme's of "Holes" and we started to brainstorm how our experience at Bridge is similar or different from these ideas.

3 Musketeers

Today we had fun.
We played Mafia in the morning and people dressed up like their career they want to be- from superman to the Incredibles and cheerleaders and a lot of soccer players. baseball players.
In math we did decimals and checked the weather forecast for different cities.
In english we finished part one of Holes and learned about the 3 plot lines.
We are going to swimming and soccer this afternoon.

Miguel saved the day during Wheel of Fortune this morning and it almost went to sudden death. (Sudden death means to go to class instead of playing games).
