Marvelous Monday week 3

Today we read up to chapter 20 in Holes.
Stanley found the gold tube and X-Ray took all the credit.
The initials KB were on the tube.
We journaled about how the book is different from the movie.
One difference is that Stanley is not fat in the movie, but he is in the book.
He was getting picked on at school and this led to part of his early troubles in the story.

 We made pizza and Jonathan fell off the couch twice during reading group with Molly.
It was hilarious.

Wacky Pizza Wednesday

We studied homphones and capitalization today.
And we are going to make pizza in math class to study fractions.

We learned how to skim read (or some of us)
We read chapters 14-16 in Holes.
Stanley found a gold tube with the initials KB on it and gave it to X-Ray but they are digging for something, but they haven't found anything yet.
So probably they might be looking in the wrong place.
We learned that Louis Sachar also wrote
The Card Turner and Taking Small Steps.
Taking Small Steps follows the characters Zero, X-Ray, Armpit and Stanley beyond "Holes" after getting out of Camp Green Lake.

Terrific Taco Tuesday

The book Holes is really good, there is a problem and a solution.
This kid named Stanley found some red and white sneakers falling from the sky and it was a sign to help his dad help to recycle sneakers and he ran and the cops saw the shoes and arrested him.
His consequence is to go to Camp Green Lake. The story continues.......
In language arts we learned about linking verbs and our journal question today is
"What character do you relate the most to in the book and why?"
Pablo relates to X-Ray because I work a lot and I get tired quickly, so I deserve to get a day off.
Ray relates to Zero because I work hard and I try my best and sometimes I am quiet.
In math we found the greatest common denominator with fractions.

Yesterday we had burritos for lunch.
We are in soccer and swimming activities.

Talented Tuesday

Breakfast today was Cheerios and Cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs.
Today we read chapters 11-13 in Holes.
Stanley found a gold tube the size of his figer with the initials KB on it.
Yesterday we started electives.
We are both in soccer and gaming.
Every Thursday and Friday we watch movies, we watched Rango last week.
Bridge lunches are really good, especially their Pizza.
During math class we will go with the chef and make pizzas on Wednesday.

McChicken Monday

Waffles with yogurt for breakfast today :-)
The wheel of fortune opener was Transformers and Mafia and we sang the theme song.

It is Eric's birthday and we sang Happy Birthday in class, he is 10!
We read Holes chapter 9 and 10
Stanley found his nickname Caveman.

Bridge is the best,
We can't wait for Wednesday to make our own pizza.
We can't wait for activities we are doing soccer and boat building.

Marvelous Monday

Today, we watched a grammar rock video on Verbs (which Alex and Rudy loved)

We read chapter's 9-10 in Holes.
Stanley found a fish fossil and he thought it was something interesting, but Mr Pedanski wasn't interested in it, so they passed it around instead. Zig-Zag, Armpit and Squid.
We wrote in our journal/blog
"How does Stanley's work and Elya's life similar?"
Stanley digs a hole each day,
Elya carries the pig up the hill everyday
Both want something
Stanley wants to make his parents happy,
Elya wants to be happy
Both of these people are stuck in a situation
Stanley has bad luck finding the shoes and going to Camp Green Lake
Elya has bad luck, he leaves Latvia before carrying Madame Zeroni up the mountain to drink from the river and singing her the song.
